About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital's Medical Specialties Department, in Norfolk Virginia. This is a full-time night shift position (7p-7a). The unit is a 42-bed Medical Specialties Unit with a diverse patient population including CHF, Sickle Cell, Renal Failure, Vascular, Sepsis, COPD, Pneumonia, Osteomyelitis w/ Surgical Interventions, Wound Care, and various other disease processes. The unit utilizes EPIC integration for data input and communication is facilitated through walkie-talkies. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RN's are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

• RN Degree REQUIRED
• Virginia RN License REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

• Prior RN experience PREFERRED
