About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Norfolk General Hospital's Medical Specialties Department, in Norfolk Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is offered for qualified candidates. This is a full-time position for Weekend Nights (7p-7a). The Medical Specialties Unit is a 42-bed unit recognized for its collective achievements and contributions to safe, high-quality care. The diverse patient population includes conditions such as CHF, Sickle Cell, Renal Failure, Vascular, Sepsis, COPD, Pneumonia, Osteomyelitis w/ Surgical Interventions, Wound Care, and various other disease processes. The unit utilizes EPIC integration for efficient data input and fosters a strong teamwork model with communication via walkie-talkies. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RN's are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

• RN Degree REQUIRED
• Virginia RN License REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Prior RN experience PREFERRED
