About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Full Time, Day shift in Suffolk, VA. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates. The Medical-Surgical Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital is a supportive environment with a 21-bed capacity, an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or 6, and PCT assistance. The unit has unit coordinators on staff to ensure smooth operations and quality patient care. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a designated Magnet hospital. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • None required (experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
  • 1 year of acute care (preferred)
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
