About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Post Surgical/Ortho provides specialized post-surgical care to adult and adolescent patients at Highpoint Health Sumner. The 24-bed unit cares for patients following a range of procedures, including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and colectomies. Nurses provide meticulous post-operative monitoring and individualized care plans to support recovery and patient wellbeing in a fast-paced environment that calls for sound decision-making, adaptability, and teamwork. The role uses specialized plan-of-care interventions and advanced nursing skills to shape patient journeys and outcomes.

Requirements

• Current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or RN Diploma in Nursing.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.
