About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting where acute care patients receive active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post-intervention recovery. This role requires strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the assigned unit
  • Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation to travel to perform job duties for Hospital Care at Home In home nursing
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit(NICU).

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans; evaluate outcomes and revise as needed
  • Advocate for patients and families while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
  • Serve as a role model and support departmental and organizational goals
  • Demonstrate age-specific competency and clinical judgment across the lifespan
  • Precept and mentor new team members when applicable
  • Document patient care accurately in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Prioritize care using Evidence-Based Practice standards
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and organized environment
  • Uphold patient rights and remain aware of legal and ethical considerations
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing committees
  • Engage in peer review, mentoring, and professional development
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education opportunities
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff and students
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and standards
