This is a full-time position (36 hours per week) for a Vascular Access RN at a Level-I-Trauma Center, involving days and evenings with an every 3rd weekend rotation. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in vascular access consultation, working with medical and nursing colleagues in hospital or procedural settings, and inserting various catheters including Interosseous Catheters (IOs), peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVC), ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous catheters (USGIV), midlines, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs, with at least 1 year of PICC experience). The Vascular Access RN will work on a team of Vascular Access Nurses across inpatient, outpatient, infusion, procedural, and testing areas, servicing a variety of vascular access devices. The Staff Registered Nurse: Tertiary Care practices within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, MA Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, upholding Lahey Clinic’s core values and mission. The nurse bears full responsibility for the quality of nursing care, including health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, and patient comfort or dignified death. They are accountable for the plan of care, decision-making in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and coordinating care across the continuum. The role also involves delegation and supervision according to the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts, providing direct patient care, maintaining current technical skills, and complying with regulatory standards.
