Registered Nurse (RN) - Pulmonary Stepdown - Maryview Medical Center
About The Position
The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse position at Maryview Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting, serving as a service line between Med-Surg and ICU. The RN assesses patient status, prioritizes patient problems and needs, develops and carries out care plans, and works to improve patient outcomes while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team, coordinates care across hospital departments, advocates for patient safety through quality improvement, and administers medications in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies. The role is in the Pulmonary/Tele/Stepdown department and is scheduled for 36 hours weekly on day shift.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care; ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
- Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- BLS or ACLS certification at hire.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze assessment data, create and implement plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
