About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period in a 34-room Mother Baby Unit in Asheville, North Carolina. The role involves monitoring and assessing patients, managing complications, collaborating with the healthcare team on individualized care plans, performing common procedures such as circumcisions, and educating and supporting new mothers in infant care practices. The unit has 78 staff members and typical patient ratios of one nurse to three or four couplets. Nurses are expected to work collaboratively and support and teach fellow staff members.
Requirements
- Two years of nursing experience in a Mother Baby Unit.
- Mother Baby experience.
- BLS certification.
- NRP certification.
Nice To Haves
- Travel nursing experience.
- Experience caring for patients receiving Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery.
- STABLE certification.
