About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides patient care on a 34-bed adult medical-surgical unit in Asheville, North Carolina. The unit uses Cerner as its electronic medical record system. Typical procedures include administering IV fluids, tube feeds and PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics.

The role requires collaboration and teamwork, including assisting CNAs and fellow nurses as needed. The nurse may be required to float to other medical-surgical units and occasionally to the Emergency Department holding pod. The dress code is navy blue scrubs. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend or six weekend shifts per pay period.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• BLS certification.
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation capabilities.
• Critical thinking and time management skills.
• Ability to assess medical-surgical patients and effectively communicate changes in acuity.
• Strong communication skills.
• Punctuality for work shifts.
• Availability for every other weekend or six weekend shifts per pay period.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
