Nurse, RN (Part Time- Days 7a-7:30pm)
About The Position
Covenant Living is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide quality care to older adults in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The role ensures quality care through resident assessment and monitoring staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident assessment. The RN also provides direct resident care in accordance with nursing standards of practice, established procedures, and state and federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities. This is a part-time dayshift position, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with three shifts per pay period: Thursday in Week 1, and Friday and Wednesday in Week 2. The RN provides routine direction to LPNs and nursing assistants, supports staff orientation and training, and communicates with the Director of Nursing about resident assessments, observations, concerns, needs, and conditions.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state.
- One year of nursing experience.
- Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
- Skill in assessing problems and planning and evaluating solutions in relation to routine supervision of LPNs and nursing assistants and resident needs.
- Understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Genuine compassion for senior adults and people with disabilities.
- Good human relations skills and ability to monitor and direct the activities of others.
- Availability, when necessary, to work beyond normal working hours, in other related positions temporarily, and on weekends, holidays, or days and shifts other than those hired for.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine daily direction to LPNs and nursing assistants and monitor their work to ensure a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks.
- Assist with orienting new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
- Help motivate LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit.
- Explain nursing procedures and assist staff to support ongoing understanding and training.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing about assessments, observations, problem areas, resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, and conditions.
- Observe and evaluate residents’ health and mental and emotional conditions, and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff.
- Notify physicians and family members of significant changes when indicated, according to prescribed procedures.
- Provide direct care to residents.
