The nurse oversees operating-room setup and equipment, coordinates the room during procedures as the circulator, helps ensure efficient transitions between procedures, manages patient care and medication (including assisting with anesthesia), and reviews charts for completeness before and after procedures. The position is identified as PRN.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in an operating-room setting; ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in an ambulatory surgery center.
• CNOR certification.
• PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the operating room, use preference cards, and anticipate surgeons’ needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the operating room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Use appropriate body mechanics when moving patients to stretchers and operating-room tables to prevent injury.
• Manage patient care and medication, including assisting with anesthesia.
• Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgical procedures.
