About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill newborns in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The 26-bed unit cares for patients with conditions including prematurity, sepsis, and surgical cases such as gastroschisis, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1. A neonatologist and respiratory therapist are on-site 24/7. The role involves monitoring patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Nurses may float first to the Nursery and Pediatrics Unit. New hires complete a structured orientation consisting of three unit shifts with a preceptor, six hours in the Nursery, and six hours in Pediatrics. The designated scrub color is navy.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a NICU setting.
- BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- LA City Fire & Safety certification.
- Experience titrating drips, including dopamine, dobutamine, Versed, and fentanyl.
