About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in Student Health Services and provides patient care, including triage, assessment, medication administration, specimen collection, and assistance with examinations and procedures. The nurse documents patient information in the electronic health record, provides patient education, and prepares examination rooms while following safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards. This position requires a background check and may also require a credit check under University policy. The incumbent is designated a Responsible Employee under Title IX and must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse involving a student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or a divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Triage patients and assess their needs upon arrival.
Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and other pertinent patient information.
Administer medications and injections as ordered by the provider.
Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Assist healthcare providers during medical procedures and treatments.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record.
Educate patients about treatments, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
Ensure examination rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient care.
Follow safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
Promptly report specified allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse to the appropriate University Title IX official.
