RN/Registered Nurse- ICU, Full time, Nights
About The Position
Texas Health Flower Mound is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its ICU/IMC unit. The 12-bed merged unit provides care for ICU and Intermediate Care patients according to their individual clinical needs and treats a range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The department offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with a mix of patient acuity and a strong focus on patient safety and thoughtful care. Major cardiac recovery is not currently within the unit’s scope, though the program is growing. The nurse works 36 hours per week on nights, with weekend and holiday requirements. The role emphasizes responding to patients’ safety and physical, psychological, and social needs; honoring each person’s dignity; understanding individual perspectives; involving families and caregivers; and partnering with patients and families in understanding health and illness and making care decisions.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing or an associate’s degree in nursing is required.
- At least 1 year of experience as a clinical nurse is required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required upon hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required before providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 90 days.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training is required within 90 days.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Critical care experience preferred but not required.
