About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Boston Medical Center’s Cardiac Telemetry Department delivers patient-centered, evidence-based inpatient nursing care to cardiac patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs. The units support recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning and help ensure safe transitions to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or home. The RN works with an interdisciplinary team and communicates with patients and families while contributing to the hospital’s mission of exceptional and equitable care.

Requirements

• Nursing diploma, ASN, or BSN; ability to obtain a BSN within four years is required.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• BSN.
• ACLS certification.
• Prior acute Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the department.
• Educate patients.
• Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data and information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects as needed.
