About The Position

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver and member of a multidisciplinary health care team. The RN is accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and supervises and provides care using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. The role is based in Camden’s Surgical Care Unit (SCU), Short Procedure Unit (SPU), Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT). PAT staff call patients to review health information before surgery. After the procedure is approved and the information reviewed, patients receive instructions about when and where to arrive. Upon arrival and registration, patients are escorted to the appropriate location for preparation. Nurses prepare patients by reviewing medical history and procedures and placing an IV. Anesthesia and the surgeon meet with patients, and after information is reviewed and verified, patients proceed to the operating room. The RN follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, provides excellent customer service while interfacing with staff, management, and physicians, applies Cooper core values, and performs other duties as required.
