Registered Nurse - OR - Days
About The Position
The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during the perioperative period. Using specialized knowledge and skills, the nurse works to achieve desired patient outcomes and serves as a patient advocate. The nurse assesses the surgical environment for potential patient safety concerns, intervenes appropriately, and works with the surgical team to facilitate completion of surgical procedures. The nurse may also orient new staff members, participate in educational programs, and secure and maintain supplies and equipment needed to deliver care. This is a full-time position in Evanston, Illinois, with weekday availability from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and call requirements that include nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Illinois RN license.
- CPR/BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Two years of RN experience in perioperative care.
