Registered Nurse - OR - Days
About The Position
The Perioperative Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during the perioperative period, applying specialized knowledge and skills to support desired patient outcomes. The nurse serves as a patient advocate, assesses the surgical environment for potential safety concerns, and intervenes appropriately while working with the surgical team to facilitate surgical procedures. The nurse may also orient new staff, contribute to educational programs, and secure and maintain supplies and equipment needed for care. The position is at Highland Park Hospital and is full-time, with a schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and call requirements that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Illinois RN license.
- CPR BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Two years of RN experience in perioperative care preferred.
