About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Intermediate Care Unit. The nurse will provide high-quality care to adult patients aged 18 and older with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The 64-bed unit includes 15 designated Neuro beds. Common diagnoses include COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular stepdown needs, and postoperative care. Specialty equipment includes temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and a Neptune Vapo Ventilator. The unit also cares for chronically ventilated patients who are unable to wean, with assistance from Respiratory Therapy. The shift runs from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Floating is required, and the scrub color is navy blue.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in an Intermediate Care Unit or Progressive Care Unit.
- Active New York RN License and all RN licenses as per requirements.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Proficiency in EPIC is required.
