About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The position is in 3 East, a cardiac telemetry unit, and is scheduled for 24 hours per week on a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. night shift. The schedule includes every third weekend and every third holiday. The nurse uses the nursing process to manage patient care from admission through discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population. Responsibilities include patient assessment and reassessment, developing and coordinating individualized care plans including discharge planning, directing and evaluating nursing care in the assigned clinical setting, delegating appropriately, and documenting care according to standard procedures.

Requirements

Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
Current BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held; unit-specific certifications and competencies may also be required.
Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
