About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time, benefit-eligible position is scheduled for three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., totaling 36 hours weekly. The schedule rotates every fourth weekend, and holidays are required as needed. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available to eligible experienced external applicants. The 29-bed Observation Unit is affiliated with the Emergency Department and cares for patients expected to remain in the hospital for less than 24 hours. Nurses care for a variety of patients, including those with chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. A provider is staffed on the unit from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day to provide support and high-level care. New graduate RNs are welcome. Requirements

Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
BLS for healthcare providers.
ACLS for healthcare providers, to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide and be accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission through discharge.
Function as an on-shift team member, providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.
Care for observation patients with a variety of conditions and procedures, including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs.
