About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in the Behavioral Health Unit at Samaritan Hospital, supporting the Crisis ER and cross-training across four behavioral health units. The Behavioral Health Unit serves people experiencing severe psychiatric crises who need inpatient care for safety, treatment, and stabilization. Care is individualized, with emphasis on safety, medication stabilization, and developing coping skills. The units include a 26-bed Adult Psych unit for stabilization of acute psychiatric symptoms and discharge planning; a 20-bed Senior/Geriatric Psych unit addressing the psychiatric and medical needs of aging patients; a 14-bed MICA unit treating co-occurring mental illness and substance use; and a six-bed locked Crisis ER unit within the emergency department. Crisis ER patients are evaluated for safety and determination of inpatient admission or discharge with outpatient support. Patients range from adolescents to older adults.
