About The Position

The Registered Nurse position is based at the Dean McGee Eye Institute Surgery Center and may be filled at the RN I, RN II, or RN III level depending on the candidate’s experience, education, and other qualifications. OU Health RNs provide safe, high-quality patient care, align their conduct with OU Health values and nursing professional practice standards, and work with patients whose health needs range from simple to complex. RN I describes a novice or advanced-beginner nurse progressing toward competence. The role includes caring for assigned patients, monitoring and documenting patient conditions and responses, assisting physicians, administering medications, and managing intravenous infusions and blood products. Nurses also communicate with patients and families about care plans and procedures, address complaints, coordinate referrals, and delegate tasks to clinical support staff as appropriate. Professional development, collaboration, inclusion, and maintaining required licensure and certifications are expected. The position is full-time, with a 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. shift, no call, and no weekends. The posting describes the employer as Oklahoma’s largest and most comprehensive eye care practice, with fellowship-trained ophthalmology specialists and more than 210,000 patient visits annually.
