About The Position

The Registered Nurse plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies and assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. This full-time days position is based in the Emergency Department at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Relocation assistance is available.

Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing or equivalent.
Current North Carolina Registered Nurse licensure or Compact state licensure.
At least one year of Emergency Department experience.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Positive interpersonal skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Effective organizational and leadership skills.
Knowledge of the age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of the patients typically served.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Registered Nurse certification/licensure from the Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and identify patient care needs.
Use patient assessment information to organize appropriate care.
Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Facilitate a safe environment.
Maintain required competencies.
Function as charge nurse when assigned.
Maintain accurate and relevant patient care records.
Administer medications as ordered by a physician.
Recognize life-threatening situations and respond appropriately.
Establish collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with Health System staff and medical staff.
Monitor quality of care using pre-established outcome-oriented indicators.
Participate in cost containment and assist in accurate charging for patient services.
Adjust care based on patients' age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs.
Support patients in practicing cultural and spiritual beliefs within the limits of the medical regimen.
Perform other duties as assigned.
