About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, provide patient and family education, and support continuity-of-care planning. The nurse communicates pertinent patient and family information to the health care team, collaborates in establishing patient goals, and evaluates progress to help ensure effective outcomes. The role also supports professional growth through learning activities consistent with Board of Nursing standards. This is a PRN role with 12-hour shifts scheduled as needed, from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and a minimum of four shifts per six-week scheduling period. The position requires a nursing education from an approved program, an active Registered Nurse license, and one year of relevant work experience.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved nursing program.
Registered Nurse licensure.
One year of relevant work experience.
Work at least four shifts per six-week scheduling period; shifts are scheduled as needed.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery, and anticipate patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
Use the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employ strategies to promote health and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Provide patient and family education and participate in continuum-of-care planning.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the health care team.
Collaborate in establishing patient goals and evaluate progress.
Engage in learning activities to support professional growth according to Board of Nursing standards.
