About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Part time, Day shift Registered Nurse for our Short Stay/ Surgical Observation Unit! Hours: 7a to 7p- two 12-hour shifts. This unit is a 24-bed unit with a 1 to 5 ratio or 1:6 ratio. This unit is dedicated to short stay patients from Women’s Health, Ortho/Spine, General Surgery, and Bariatrics. These are all short stay populations with heavy discharge turnover. The unit has a primarily 12- hour shift schedule with weekend rotation with additional support of Patient Care Technicians covering 8-12 patients, Unit Coordinators, Resource Nurses, and a strong Educator with over 20 years of experience. With a strong orientation program where the manager and educator meet with you every two weeks to make sure you are getting the best learning opportunity. Requirements

• Education Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• 1 year of acute care (preferred)
• Previous healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities
