The NC Department of Adult Correction (DAC) is seeking dedicated professionals to join their growing team across multiple classifications and locations. DAC is one of the largest state agencies with over 14,000 employees, responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property, and for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff, as well as probation/parole officers. The Division of Comprehensive Health Services provides evidence-based, compassionate medical care to all offenders in custody, aiming to ensure full-spectrum medical care from entry to release. The team includes physicians, nurses, behavioral health services, dental services, psychiatric services, pharmacy services, and licensed healthcare administration services, working together to provide emergent, acute, routine, and chronic health care, as well as preventive medicine. They also coordinate with external specialists to ensure comprehensive health and well-being for a safe transition from prison, improving public health, and decreasing recidivism.
