About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in Union Hospital’s 2WB observation unit, which provides short-term hospital care—typically under 48 hours—for patients with cardiac, stroke, and other medical concerns. The role supports efficient, high-quality patient care through expert assessments, timely interventions, and safe transitions of care. The unit emphasizes compassionate service and high-quality care for Wabash Valley communities.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN program.
- Hold an Indiana RN license.
- Hold BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Previous RN experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the physician or manager to determine patient needs.
- Complete routine physical assessments systematically using common assessment skills.
- Contribute to plans of care for predefined patient problems.
- Respect patients’ rights, including the rights to information, privacy, confidentiality, and refusal of care.
- Assist with patient education to promote self-care and independence.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and department protocols.
- Assist the physician with special procedures.
