RN - Observation Unit
About The Position
Essentia Health is hiring a registered nurse for the Observation Unit at Miller Dwan Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. The RN organizes and provides patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse serves as a team leader and delegates aspects of care to nursing personnel according to their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. The role also contributes to the facility’s and Essentia Health’s mission and goals, serves the local community, and meets applicable Joint Commission and other regulatory or accrediting requirements. This position is 0.75 FTE, working 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, with work every third weekend and holidays. There is no call obligation. The stated compensation range is $45.03–$68.87. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $7,500 for an ADN or $10,000 for a BSN.
Requirements
- BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing.
- Current nursing licensure in Minnesota.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.
- One year of acute Medical/Surgical RN experience.

- Critical Care experience preferred.
