About The Position

West Anaheim Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the DOU. The nurse uses the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe care within their scope of practice. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The Registered Nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients, communicates changes in clinical condition and diagnostic findings to physicians, responds promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current, valid state Registered Nurse license.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Critical Care Course.
Critical care experience.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
Maintain standards of care in the DOU.
Remain accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms to physicians.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
