About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the PACU is responsible for delivering nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice. Care must follow hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice. The position is scheduled for evening hours, 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., for 72 hours biweekly.

Requirements

• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• At least one year of telemetry experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN), required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Medical/Surgical Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, and/or Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care or standard of care and provide patient teaching using that plan.
• Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
