About The Position
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is hiring a Registered Nurse traveler for its hospital resource pool. The role is a 14-week temporary assignment with day-shift designation; multiple shifts are listed as available. The RN provides competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The position follows professional practice standards covering ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must have the clinical knowledge and skills required for the relevant clinical areas and maintain any specialty-specific requirements.
Requirements
- RN degree: ADN, BSN, or MSN.
- Valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- At least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in med/surg and/or IMCU care.
- Experience with the EPIC documentation system.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
- Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
- Practice in accordance with professional standards, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Maintain the clinical knowledge and skills required for assigned clinical areas and any specialty-specific requirements.
