About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the Critical Care department at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The role supports patient safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes through individualized care planning, close monitoring, and coordination with physicians and other care team members. The schedule is full-time and includes weekends.

Requirements

• Obtain Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
• Hold a Tennessee Board of Nursing Registered Nurse credential, or a current home-state license recognized through a compact-state multistate license, before hire or job transfer.
• Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care that supports patient safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes.
• Develop and manage individualized care plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust care as needs change.
• Communicate patient updates with physicians and the care team to support timely decisions and coordinated care.
• Coordinate care across disciplines, including providers, therapists, and support staff.
• Guide discharge planning to help patients and families transition safely from the hospital to home or another level of care.
