Registered Nurse- Pre-op/PACU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) supports pre-op, PACU, and stepdown patient care at Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center in Metropolis, Illinois. The role assesses patients, delivers individualized nursing care, monitors recovery, and collaborates with the surgical team to support safe, efficient procedures and optimal outcomes. The center provides outpatient orthopaedic surgical care, including sports medicine, joint replacements, spine, and plastic surgery. It has three operating rooms and dedicated minor procedure rooms. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM; hours may vary based on center needs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in perioperative settings.
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes during recovery.
- Document accurately and communicate effectively with team members and patients.
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Support patient education and provide post-operative instructions.
