About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care on a 12-bed labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) unit that includes a newborn nursery serving as a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, two triage rooms, and two cesarean suites. The role covers antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and special care nursery care. Nurses participate in cesarean sections and other minor procedures, provide bereavement support, and assume Health Unit Coordinator duties when needed. Training is provided. The position is part-time on the night shift. Typical patient ratios are 1:1 in Labor & Delivery, 1:3 in Postpartum, and 1:3 for Couplet Care. The unit offers a didactic learning experience in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State Licensing Board in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in OB, Labor & Delivery, and circulating in the OR preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and special care nursery settings.
- Participate in cesarean sections and minor procedures, including acting as circulator, scrub, and assistant.
- Set up and tear down delivery tables.
- Provide bereavement support to patients experiencing loss.
- Assume Health Unit Coordinator duties when needed.
