About The Position

If you have experience in Wound Care, ICU, ER, Critical Care, Telemetry or Advanced Med Surg you are encouraged to apply! This role involves assessing and documenting patients' wounds, applying treatments, and providing comprehensive patient care for wound, ostomy, and hyperbaric therapy. The position also includes educating patients and families, modifying care plans, ensuring follow-up care, and implementing infection control measures. The nurse will stay updated on the latest wound care techniques and research, and may provide hyperbaric therapy after receiving training.

Requirements

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
  • BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
  • Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
  • Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments
  • Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment
  • Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach proper care for ostomies and how to manage continence issues
  • Regularly track the progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and support post-discharge, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomies
  • Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital, educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies when needed
  • Stay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research; participate in continuing education and professional development activities
  • Interact with community resources to ensure continuity of care
  • Clinic nurses provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided)
