About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse - Women's Health (OB/GYN) at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers Employee status and access to a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, and, Vision, 401(K), PTO and Sick time. The schedule is 40 hours weekly with a fully insured patient population. Duty Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts between 0730am -1700pm with a 1 hour lunch. There is no on-call requirement. This is an opportunity to care for Active Duty, Retirees and their families. The position includes 11 paid federal holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US.
  • Shall have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS), Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Shall have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university; Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of labor and delivery or Women’s Health Clinic experience is preferred.
  • Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to a select population of essentially healthy women and/or their babies in a variety of settings to include, obstetrical antepartum or intrapartum management, postpartum care, gynecologic care and immediate newborn care.
  • Manage growth, development, and pathophysiology of disease processes specific to the obstetrical and gynecological population to include all ages of the spectrum from neonate to geriatrics.
  • Ensure administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
  • Address a wide range of medical disorders to include sickle cell anemia, diabetes, sexually transmitted diseases, thyroid disorders, hypertension, and cardiac disease among others and their potential impact on perinatal outcomes, as well as broad knowledge of normal delivery variations, their complications and indicated therapeutic intervention required.
