About The Position

The Registered Nurse at Sterling Center Women's Health provides direct nursing care, clinical support, and patient communication services. This role involves assisting providers with examinations and procedures, performing clinical assessments, administering medications, and monitoring patient responses. The nurse is also responsible for managing patient calls, triaging concerns, providing clinical guidance, and documenting all interactions in the electronic health record. Additionally, the position includes managing laboratory and diagnostic results, coordinating follow-up care, and collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless patient care and transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical protocols and standards of care
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient flow
  • Perform clinical assessments, including vital signs, patient history updates, and symptom evaluation
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy, injections, and other treatments as ordered
  • Monitor patient response to treatments and report any adverse reactions
  • Manage incoming patient calls, triage appropriately, and provide clinical guidance within scope of practice
  • Respond to patient questions regarding symptoms, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Escalate urgent or complex clinical concerns to providers in a timely manner
  • Review and manage laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic results
  • Ensure timely communication of results to patients per provider direction
  • Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and additional testing as needed
  • Track outstanding results and ensure completion and closure of all patient care items
  • Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, front office staff, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care
  • Support care transitions, including referrals to specialists or hospital services
  • Assist in managing patient schedules related to clinical needs and follow-ups
