Under the direction of the Urgent Care Nurse Manager and the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care within their scope of practice and in accordance with San Ysidro Health policies and procedures in an acute ambulatory care setting. The RN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care in a manner conducive to patient comfort, safety, and welfare. This role involves direct patient care, participation in staff education, leadership, and accountability for nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act. The position requires adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and Core Measure Initiatives, accurate patient needs assessment, implementation of care functions including triage, primary and secondary assessments, and various nursing tasks such as EKGs, IV insertion, medication administration, respiratory treatments, wound care, and patient education. The RN will also be responsible for infection prevention, assisting physicians, responding to emergency codes, documenting in the EMR, coordinating admissions/transfers, and maintaining department readiness. Customer service, teamwork, and professional development are also key aspects of this role.
