About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse – Unit Coordinator for the Advanced Heart Failure Specialty Unit. This role involves advancing your nursing career by demonstrating proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and providing clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, you will lead safety and quality initiatives, focus on and simplify workflow, and contribute to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN Required, or MSN
Virginia RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
Position requires 18 Months of RN experience

Responsibilities

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area.
Provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives.
Focuses on and simplifies workflow.
Contributes to the development of staff.
Increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
