Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Oncology Unit. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the Unit Coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service. The Oncology Unit cares for patients with cancer in an inpatient, 36-bed Intermediate Care Unit. Compassionate RNs are needed to monitor physical conditions, prescribe medication, and administer chemotherapy and other treatments. The care delivered is dynamic and includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplants/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.
