About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Oncology Unit. This is an intermediate care unit with 36 beds that cares for patients with cancer. The role involves monitoring physical conditions, prescribing medication, and administering chemotherapy and other treatments. The care delivered is dynamic and includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplants/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care. Under the direction of the department manager, this role leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN Required
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 18 months of relevant nursing experience
