RN Triage - Outpatient Headache Clinic
About The Position
The Triage Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for meeting patient care needs through inbound and outbound telephone practice under the direction of the Supervisor. The role requires positive customer relationship skills, active listening, clinical assessment, patient education, and advanced problem-solving. The nurse manages patients’ immediate and ongoing needs, with attention to acute and preventive interventions. The position is based primarily at 1460 N Halsted Street in downtown Chicago, with infrequent travel to Glenbrook North. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Current Illinois RN licensure.
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to handle periods of high stress.
- Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, climb, and use hands repetitively for prolonged periods.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry or push up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Conduct inbound and outbound telephone triage and assess caller needs.
- Provide patient education and manage patients’ immediate and ongoing care needs.
- Place Continuous Glucose Monitors.
- Perform testing.
- Complete insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
- Clean and stock exam rooms.
