Onsite

About The Position

This is a challenging and very busy Telemetry unit that serves as the primary cardiac and stroke unit. The role involves providing stable pre/post care for patients undergoing procedures such as pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibribrillators, and cardiac catheterization. Patients may also include those recovering from interventional peripheral vascular procedures or cardiac interventions without sheaths, and those on non-rebreather masks with stable oxygen saturation. The unit handles various diagnoses including unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluation, CHF, dysrhythmias, and new CVA/TIA patients. Nurses will manage multiple drips such as Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone, and may titrate cardizem drips. The unit operates at a fast pace, with a high patient turnover rate, and may house COVID positive patients requiring opti-flow and BIPAP. A team lead is available to assist with admissions and discharges.
