This position is for a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed Telemetry/Observation unit specializing in cardiac, medical, and surgical patients. The unit offers an individualized, comprehensive orientation program, a residency program for new graduates, and provides a Basic Rhythm course, ACLS certification, and NIHSS course. A mentorship program is available after orientation, along with opportunities for committee participation and professional growth through a Clinical Ladder. There is a leadership presence on every shift, and this role is considered the first steppingstone to an ICU/CCU career. The position is full-time, averaging 72 hours biweekly, with a 12-hour night shift (7 AM - 7 PM). Every third weekend is required, and the position is eligible for a weekend differential. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes recognizing and treating the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.
