About The Position

This is a Nurse Intern position in Observation Telemetry at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. The role is PRN (as needed) and involves night shifts. Via Christi associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through their academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma/GED required.
Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

You are actively pursuing your nursing degree through an accredited ADN, BSN, or MSN program.

Responsibilities

Support patients’ well-being by assisting with activities of daily living and accurately monitoring vital signs.
Observe patient status and responses firsthand, documenting and reporting these observations directly to the preceptor.
Assist the preceptor in developing comprehensive care plans, using reports on test results and patient observations to help shape clinical outcomes.
Take an active role in the flow of the department, from preparing and transporting patients for diagnostic services to ensuring a safe, clean environment for healing.
