About The Position
This is a full-time day position for a Registered Nurse in the Perioperative Care, OrthoSports Same Day Surgery department. The role involves providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating with various disciplines, and managing patient discharge planning. The position is located at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham and operates on a 3/12 hour shift schedule, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
