The Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Services is a professional perioperative nurse responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of patient care throughout the perioperative continuum. The RN provides safe, evidence-based nursing care consistent with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Washington, hospital policies and procedures, and accepted standards of perioperative nursing practice. The Surgical Services RN functions as a patient advocate and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, sterile processing personnel, vendors, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient surgical care. Demonstrates performance consistent with Pullman Regional Hospital’s mission, vision, values, relationship-based care principles, philosophy of care, departmental goals, and high reliability practices. The Surgical Services RN is expected to function in both circulating and scrub roles following departmental competency validation and in accordance with operational needs.
