As a Registered Nurse Supervisor with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will lead a skilled nursing team that delivers dependable, resident-focused care at the South Mountain Restoration Center. Requirements

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Offer guidance to nursing staff, support collaboration across shifts, and promote teamwork
  • Review all phases of nursing service, advocate for residents, and direct the delivery of resident care in multiple areas
  • Ensure a safe therapeutic environment for residents and staff through consistent monitoring and communication
  • Provide orientation, training, and support for professional and non-professional nursing personnel
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, fulfill Minimum Data Set (MDS) requirements, and complete employee evaluations
