Requirements
- Current & good standing RN License in State of New York
- Progressive Nursing experience in a geriatric setting.
- Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident
- Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, & sometimes challenging residents
- Have patience & willingness to assist any residents & co-workers
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, & organization skills
- Able to work well under pressure, flexible, & will work harmoniously with all staff
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer’s patients is desirable
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organizes, oversees, & supervises assigned unit activities & staff assignments & demonstrates clinical expertise which is consistent with the established standards of Nursing Practice
- Identifies & responds, appropriately & timely, to patient needs
- Monitors, observes, & documents vital signs, treatments administered, & patient responses.
- Administers medications & treatments as needed
- Communicates and directs services ongoing or any plan/concerns/information to appropriate team members, resident, family, or medical staff as needed
- Identifies & follows disciplinary action as stated in policy
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, physicians, & other vendors’/services
- Performs RN assessment to resident’s post incidents or change in condition.
- Leads & directs emergency situations – (Fire alarm, Elopement, etc.)
- Maintains accurate nursing report, staffing sheets, & census roster
Benefits
- $54.00/hour + $2.00/hr shift diff (evenings & nights)
